Art Requirements

We understand that not all customers have art departments to generate their print ready logos and artwork; so, we have designed this guideline to help you submit the best creatives for your project.

PromoKeychain.com offers complimentary setup for up to 4 colors, on orders of 50 pieces or more. Laser engraving, and Photo Realistic Printing are always free with any order quantity.

Art Requirements

Vector Art (for silk screen printing, laser engraving, and 2D custom designs)

• Adobe Illustrator version CS2 or earlier (AI, EPS, PDF)
• Font size minimum 5pt
• Fonts converted to Outlines
• Line weight minimum 0.25pt
• No gradient color fills
• No 3D modelling
• Solid spot color fills at 100%
• Pantone Colors - PMS

Raster Art (for photo realistic printing)

• We accept (AI, JPG, PDF, EPS, TIFF, PSD - with no compression)
• 1/8" bleed on all sides
• 300dpi resolution or higher
• Font size minimum 5pt
• Line weight minimum 0.25pt

3D Art (for custom molded designs)

• We accept AutoCAD DXF format (.dxf)
• models to actual scale (1:1)
• Other formats may be accepted

Art Guidelines

Digital Proofs - Before we go to mass production, we generate a digital proof showing your logo or artwork superimposed over your selected product. As this is often the beginning of your project, and you may not have all your print-ready creatives available, we are able to work with any graphic file format.

Silk Screen Printing - Vector artwork file. The first colors are complimentary for orders of 50 or more pieces, $0.30 per color thereafter. Best for printing company logos, names, and contact information. Logo guidelines should match vector art standards, above.

Laser Engraving - Vector artwork file with engraved locations converted to black. Best Solution for wood and metal surfaces; and, also adds a nice touch to silicone and PVC.

Photo Realistic Printing - Raster artwork file. Best solution for printing photos and complex artwork containing gradients and shading. This printing method is available with a limited selection of flash drives.

Custom Molding - Vector or 3D artwork for flat designs and 3D artwork for figurines. Best solution for custom shapes and models of product replicas. This production method can also be laser engraved and silk screen printed.

Artwork Submissions

You may submit your artwork to info@promokeychain.com (if under 10MB), or contact us for our ftp server information.
Otherwise, you may choose to send using your favourite file sharing program, or make your file available to us on your ftp server or website.
Please, ensure your artwork meets the standards, as listed above.

Art Services

Art charges are billed on a case-by-case basis, and we will not bill you for any art services you do not request. If the job meets our requirements then art charges should not apply. Typical charges may be for raster (jpg, gif, png) to vector conversion or color separation. If extensive graphic design work is required, the job is billed by the hour with an hourly art charge of $50.

Setup Charges

PromoKeychain.com offers complimentary plate setup for up to 4 color silk screen printing, on orders of 50 pieces or more. Orders of less than 50, will be charged a setup charge of $50.
Laser engraving, and Photo Realistic Printing are always free with any order quantity. Custom molded designs require a setup charge for each design.
